With its 549 meters high, Albugnano is the highest town in the Lower Monferrato. From the Belvedere Motta, the viewer can enjoy a suggestive panorama, which ranges from the Cottian Alps to the Maritime ones, where – on clear days – the view extends to the Serra d’Ivrea and the Sanctuary of Superga.
Nature is joined by historical heritage, so you can miss a visit to the Vezzolano Abbey, a Romanesque-Gothic masterpiece erected in 1095.
Five minutes far from Albugnano, there’s Castelnuovo Don Bosco town, also called the “Land of the Saints”, and the renowned Basilica dedicated to Don Bosco with its native house and museum.
In the surrounding there are also the famous Big Benches, where you can take a picture and enjoy the view. They are located in Castelnuovo Don Bosco, Aramengo and Passerano Marmorito.
For the more sporty, we recommend the offer of bike tours on our hills, to discover the most characteristic villages and their beauties … and why not, to discover our wines and traditional dishes.
